The Studio is Based around an SSL 4000G+ 72 Channel console, with a Pro Tools HD3 running 72 outputs with 192 converters clocked by a SyncroGenius HD and an Apogee Big Ben. Masters & stems are recorded through a Lavry Gold Mastering converter at 96K to a second Pro Tools HD3. For monitoring NS10s are used, powered by Bryston Amplifiers. Cenzo also uses KRK 9000B's also powered by Bryston Amplifiers, KRK E8s and a selection of small speakers and radios to simulate different listening enviroments. Favourites are the NHT M00's.
Compression:
A variety of outboard compressors are used in the mixing process. Empirical Labs Distressors, we have 6 of them in the studio. Cenzo also favours the PYE compressors, a varied selection of vintage and modern valve compressors such as The Chiswick Reach, LA-2As, Manleys Variable Mu, Thermionic Culture's Phoenix and an Esoteric Audio Research Compressor. Lots of transformer based compressors are used, such as EMI's TG1, Neve 33609's, Al Smart C2's, DBX 160's, 1176s and La3a.
EQ:
Most of the outboard Eq's used are Valve based, such as Pultec's, Summits, as well as Tubetech and K&H. Cenzo also uses old Neve's & NTI Stereo EQ,s and Massenburg GML.
FX:
Favourites reverbs and delays include Eventide H3000's, a Bricasti M7, Lexicon 480 and PCM70. The TC electronic D2 all purpose delay, mono Ibanez guitar delay, Memory Man and other pedal delays.
A variety of distortion boxes and re-amping options, such as a culture vulture, and sansamp distortion pedals.
Olympic studios EMT plates, and the studios stone clad live room is used both as an echo chamber, and to house some different amps for re-amping options.
Plugins:
A few of the choice ones are The Massey plugin collection, particularly the tape head saturation, and the VT3 eq, the soundtoys bundle, . The waves Platinum collection , as well as the sony oxford eq's and compressors. For internal reverbs Cenzo mainly uses the convolution plugin Altiverb.
